Woodruff remained unbeaten on the young season with a hard-fought 26-23 victory at Clinton on Friday night.
The Wolverines (2-0) fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter, though, as Anthony Henley scored on a 1-yard run.
Woodruff answered on its next possession in only three plays, capped by a 43-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Perkins to Hermundre Rutledge to cut the deficit to 7-6. The extra point was blocked.
Perkins threw his second touchdown pass on a third down and 20 on a 35-yard screen pass to Cyd Wedman to give the Wolverines a 12-7 lead at the half.
Perkins finished 17 of 26 for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Rutledge grabbed six catches for 63 yards with a touchdown.
Clinton (0-2) answered as Henley scored his second touchdown on a 32-yard run. Lavadrick Glenn ran in the 2-point conversion to give the Red Devils a 15-12 advantage.
But Rutledge took the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown, and the Wolverines added a 2-point conversion for a 20-15 lead. Wooduff increased the lead to 26-15 following a D.J. Jones interception as Rutledge scored on a 5-yard run.
Clinton answered with 3:23 to go in regulation as Keenan Caldwell hauled in an 88-yard touchdown pass to make the score 26-23. The Red Devils got the ball back with 1:29 to go but turned the ball over on downs to end the game.
